Selway-Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation
Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Cabin
Into the wild
2 week immersion for an artist or artist pair
The Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation is a community of wilderness minded and hardworking individuals, dedicated to connecting wilderness with the people who work, live, and play within it.
The efforts of the SBFC community protect and preserve the natural, pristine character of wilderness.
An artist or artist pair will have the opportunity to experience the rugged Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness while staying in a rustic cabin in the woods. The one room cabin has a kitchen and an outhouse. Artists must be capable of hiking 20 miles, and be comfortable with being in a remote location with limited contact with people and no electricity. A two-way radio will be provided to ensure safety. Artist(s) will be flown in with the option to hike the 16 miles out. The Artist/Artist pair will be considered volunteers at the airstrip in exchange for their stay (we hope to provide some funding if possible - $25/day), and will be requested to help assist the occasional visitor that comes to the site. Training provided. Interested in learning more? Email email@example.com.
There is one opportunity for an artist or artist pair during the Summer AIR.
